Lecturer - Carpentry and Joinery
Salary: 41,833 - 50,359
Contract: 0.4 FTE / 14 Hours (Tuesday & Wednesday)
Location: Stirling Campus
Fixed-term to December 2025
The Department of STEM & Construction wish to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Lecturer of Carpentry and Joinery to work with learners across SCQF levels 5 to 7.
Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality learning, teaching and assessment materials, and deliver excellent teaching to a range of learners in the college.
- Have thorough working knowledge of the current industry standards regarding Carpentry and Joinery services.
- Deliver training to others within the workplace or training organisation; work with others to develop new approaches to learning and teaching, making use of learning technologies while ensuring the curriculum is relevant and up-to-date.
- Contribute to the development of provision and enhance students' learning by providing specialist subject support.
- Maintain a strong learner focus.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to an appropriate level minimum HNC or Industrial Equivalent within the discipline area, with significant industrial experience in Carpentry and Joinery systems.
- Ideally, experience in further education or adult education; current driving license as the ability to work cross-campus will be required.
- Knowledge of current National Occupational Standards and qualifications in related subjects are essential.
- Recent experience of developing innovative teaching practice along with good organisational skills and evidence of appropriate ICT skills.
