Job summary

A reputed recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Learning Support Practitioner to provide classroom and 1:1 support for learners with complex needs including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH. This full-time role requires working hours of 35 hours per week, ensuring the academic and social development of students while monitoring behavior. Ideal candidates should have experience in SEN or care settings and possess a flexible and empathetic approach. The role is temporary to ongoing until 19th December, with opportunity for extension.

Location: Folkestone College, Kent

Salary: Dependent on Experience

Hours: Full‑Time, 35 hours per week (8:30 am – 16:00 pm)

Contract: Temporary to Ongoing

About the Role and Client

Our client is seeking an experienced Learning Support Practitioner to join their Inclusive Learning team. You'll provide in‑class and 1:1 support for learners with a range of complex needs, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH, under the guidance of the class tutor.

Responsibilities
  • Support academic and social development in class.
  • Provide 1:1 assistance and personal care where required.
  • Monitor behaviour and encourage positive engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with tutors and the wider support team.
  • Ensure safeguarding and safety standards are maintained.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in SEN or care settings supporting young people with complex needs.
  • Ability to provide personal care (no manual handling required).
  • Flexible and empathetic approach.
  • Enhanced DBS for child and adult workforce within the last three years (can start while DBS is in process under supervision).
