Job summary

A leading educational support provider is seeking a Learning Support Assistant in New Addington. About the role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both in and out of the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing targeted support to students with additional needs, including SEN, EAL or those requiring academic intervention
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence
  • Assisting class teachers with lesson delivery, differentiation and classroom management
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and independence in learning
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, the SEND department and pastoral teams
  • Supporting students social, emotional and academic development in line with school expectations

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Learning Support Assistant (LSA) you will:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (school‑based experience preferred
  • A positive, patient and proactive approach to supporting students
  • Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check / Have a DBS currently

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Experience supporting students with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia)
