Speech and Language Learning Support Assistant - Full-Time, Long-Term

Location: Radlett, Hertfordshire
Start Date: January 2026

Supply Desk is delighted to be supporting a friendly and inclusive primary school in Radlett, known for its nurturing environment and strong commitment to pupil development. We are seeking a patient, motivated, and enthusiastic Speech and Language Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis starting January 2026.

As a Speech and Language LSA, you will work closely with teachers and external speech and language therapists to support pupils with communication needs. Your role will be essential in helping children develop their speech, language, and social communication skills while building confidence across their learning.

  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group speech and language interventions
  • Support pupils in developing expressive/receptive language, vocabulary, and social communication
  • Use strategies such as visuals, modelling, repetition, and structured routines
  • Assist in adapting learning materials to support communication needs
  • Encourage positive interaction, engagement, and participation in lessons
  • Work alongside teachers and specialists to implement therapy recommendations
  • Track progress and share observations with staff
  • Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and communication-friendly classroom environment
  • Experience working with children with speech, language, or communication needs (school experience preferred)
  • A calm, caring, and proactive approach
