Supply Desk is excited to partner with a dedicated SEN school in Hemel Hempstead to recruit a passionate and committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This is a full-time, long-term position with an ASAP start, ideal for someone looking to make a positive impact on the lives of students with additional needs.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to deliver tailored support across Key Stage 1 (KS1). Your responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the students, allowing you to develop a fulfilling and impactful role.
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, learning difficulties, and other additional needs.
Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, and emotional development to ensure every student thrives.
Assist in the implementation, monitoring, and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), helping students meet their learning goals.
Promote positive behaviour, encourage active participation in lessons, and create a supportive learning environment.
Develop strong, trusting relationships with students, ensuring their individual needs are met with care and consideration.
Adapt learning materials and resources to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to the class teacher, contributing to the overall development of the students.
Assist in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that encourages positive engagement and social interaction.
Experience working with children, preferably in an SEN or primary school setting.
A calm, empathetic, and proactive attitude with a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with teaching staff, parents, and other professionals.
Flexible and adaptable, with enthusiasm for working in a dynamic and supportive school environment.
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
