Learning Support Assistant – SEN School
Full-Time | Long-Term | ASAP Start | Hemel Hempstead

This is a full-time, long-term position with an ASAP start, ideal for someone looking to make a positive impact on the lives of students with additional needs.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to deliver tailored support across Key Stage 1 (KS1). Your responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the students, allowing you to develop a fulfilling and impactful role.

Key Duties

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, learning difficulties, and other additional needs.

• Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, and emotional development to ensure every student thrives.

• Assist in the implementation, monitoring, and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), helping students meet their learning goals.

• Promote positive behaviour, encourage active participation in lessons, and create a supportive learning environment.

• Develop strong, trusting relationships with students, ensuring their individual needs are met with care and consideration.

• Adapt learning materials and resources to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.

• Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to the class teacher, contributing to the overall development of the students.

• Assist in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that encourages positive engagement and social interaction.
