A supportive education provider in Wallsend is seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to support secondary school students. The ideal candidate will provide guidance and pastoral care to help students overcome challenges and achieve their potential. Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills are essential. Protocol Education is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Mentor to support students in secondary schools across Wallsend, Newcastle. In this role, you will provide guidance, pastoral support, and mentoring to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Student Support: Provide one-to-one or small group mentoring for students who may be facing academic, social, or emotional challenges.
Pastoral Care: Offer guidance, encouragement, and support to help students manage behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing.
Monitoring & Reporting: Track student progress and communicate insights with teaching staff to inform intervention strategies.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a consistent approach to student development.
Program Delivery: Assist with initiatives and programs designed to enhance student engagement, resilience, and motivation.
We are looking for individuals who:
Experience: Have experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or mentoring setting.
Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
Commitment: Passionate about supporting students to achieve their goals and overcome challenges.
Qualifications: Relevant experience or qualifications in mentoring, counselling, or youth work is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
