Job summary

A dynamic People team is seeking a Learning & Development Trainer to create and deliver impactful training materials to staff. This role focuses on designing an effective onboarding process for new hires and ensuring continuous employee development through regular appraisals and skill assessments. Ideal candidates will possess a strong knowledge of learning methodologies, excellent communication skills, and a passion for fostering a learning culture. The position offers hybrid working after probation and includes various employee perks.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our People Team as a Learning & Development Trainer, creating, developing, and delivering training materials to all our employees. This will include the creation and delivery of bespoke training resources to be delivered either face‑to‑face or online, along with sourcing of external training providers or the organisation of refresher training, in line with our health and safety obligations.

You will be tasked to design and deliver an outstanding onboarding process ensuring that our new hires understand the business values, policies, products and have the knowledge and skills to start their career journey with us. After probation, you will continue to monitor and support our employees to ensure their continued growth and development by facilitating regular 1:1s, annual appraisals, and succession planning, and the creation of a career pathway.

What you will do
  • Foster a culture of Learning and development within Nurtur. Support the embedding of all new employees through a detailed, informative induction and onboarding programme.
  • Familiarise yourself with our technical products.
  • Consult with our department heads to determine the best way to design and deliver fit for purpose learning, meeting the key learning objectives for each of our products.
  • Deliver this product training to our employees.
  • Create and maintain training records to include individual training plans.
  • Liaise with the management team to identify skill shortages, career pathways including succession planning.
  • Build great relationships with learners, subject matter experts and stakeholders of all levels, in all departments, to enable a collaborative design process.
  • Adapt training packages accordingly to suit the needs of the learner.
  • Establish methods to monitor how effectively learning has been transferred to employees.
  • Facilitate and support with the organisation of 3‑month, 6‑month reviews and annual appraisal.
  • Arrange annual refresher training.
  • Cross‑functional working with the wider People team to ensure effective collaboration and a holistic way of working.
  • Support the wider business and our clients (when required) to understand the full breadth of our products – including the optimisation of existing content and the rollout of new modules.
What you will need to have
  • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods.
  • Self‑motivation and a curious mindset.
  • Experience in designing and delivering learning initiatives to meet internal needs.
  • Experience driving a culture of continuing professional development.
  • Ability to monitor how effectively learning has been transferred to employees.
  • Previous experience working with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • An understanding of learning evaluation and return on investment measures, with the ability to interpret the results and act.
  • Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office including Teams.
  • Exceptional enthusiasm along with a positive attitude and be highly motivated.
  • The ability to see tasks through to completion and hit deadlines.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to your work.
  • Great organisational and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.

This will be based out of our offices based in Little Eaton.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 9am – 5.30 pm.
