Job description
Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and install workstations and workstation accessories
  • Help create fixtures or set-up devices as required
  • Work in a variety of departments
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining inventory of necessary supplies
  • Observe and maintain 5s and Visual Management within own work area
  • Assist with proto-type or first time builds solutions as required
  • Assist Engineering and/or Team in development and/or improvement of department layout
  • Review expiration date of materials to ensure materials and equipment are current
  • Develop expertise in the Lean function; attend training when available
  • Crosstrain other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience
  • Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation
  • Perform basic Oracle transactions as required
  • Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach
  • Keep all shift operators informed of special problems, changes, and progress in the department
  • Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of new processes and/or issues
  • Perform troubleshooting responsibilities
  • Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products
  • Participates in and support team initiatives
  • Understands and abides by the GE Behaviors
  • Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Education or GED equivalency
  • 1 year manufacturing experience
  • Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation
  • Ability to safely use a variety of hand, power and shop tools such as drills, pipe cutters, table saw, sanding and grinding equipment
  • Ability to think critically and creatively to help implement solutions
  • Ability to ask questions and communicate effectively
  • Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have a high attention to detail; 1-3 years manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for Lean and Continuous Improvement
  • Experience with machining, welding, soldering, fabrication, or other skilled trades
  • Experience in a self-directed teaming environment
  • Familiarity with 5S and lean manufacturing
  • Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize work
Physical Demands
  • Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance
  • Ability to work in multiple body postures as these builds require bending at times
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when boxes of material need to be restocked to pick locations
Compensation and Benefits

The pay for this position is $20/hour. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close 8/31/25.
