Lead Warehouse Processor/Delivery Driver (Kill Devil Hills)

Job title: Lead Warehouse Processor and Delivery Driver

Lead Department: Warehouse

Reports to: Warehouse Manager and Director of Purchasing

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Purpose

This position assists in handling operations of the warehouse with the warehouse manager and director of purchasing. The individual will perform tasks in our warehouse located in Kill Devil Hills and is expected to do what it takes to deliver product to the customer.

Lead Warehouse Processor Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow instructions and assignments of Warehouse manager and Director of purchasing.
  • Maintain Central Distribution inventory.
  • Lead warehouse staff to maintain efficient and productive workflow.
  • Training, receiving and processing crew members.
  • Receive and locate inbound freight in the warehouse.
  • Manage Picking which requires lifting heavy boxes and climbing ladders at times.
  • Manage Quality Control Station. This involves matching picked products with orders, validating, and preparing for the packing stations.
  • Pull product, process, inventory, tag, and distribute product to correct store location.
  • Inventories and restock as needed.
  • Fill order for supplies/equipment and deliver supplies/equipment as needed.
  • Receive purchases and verify proper supplies received with the purchase order.
  • Assist in researching problem orders (i.e., back orders, incorrect shipments, product substitutions, product recalls, returns, and stock level adjustments).
  • Maintain storage areas.
  • Sort, distribute, and process both incoming and outgoing mail.
  • May deliver supplies/equipment to the proper departments and place them where stocked. Rotate stock for FIFO usage.
  • Utilize Inventory System to order supplies and maintain proper inventory levels.
  • 6‑day work week required “in season”.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Driver Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ability to drive large delivery vehicles all over the Outer Banks safely to deliver products to all retail operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret purchase orders.
  • Loading and unloading of merchandise safely.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise using appropriate dollies and forklift equipment.
  • Must work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Deliver supplies/equipment to all retail locations as requested.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while in retail operations.
  • Assist with warehouse storage areas for ease of loading and unloading.
  • Distribute internal mail to all locations.
Additional Job Purpose

The Inventory Processor Delivery Driver is responsible for the accurate recording of all goods and dispatching those goods to the Outer Banks Stores using delivery vehicles. This position will travel from Ocracoke Island to Beaufort and Virginia Beach some days of the week.

  • The work environment is a controlled indoor warehouse environment.
  • Noise level is moderate; expect office machines and light traffic. Position is in a shared office.
  • May be requested to work overtime and weekends during the department’s in‑season time period.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours. Most of the time will be spent standing, walking, reaching, pulling, climbing, bending, and lifting. About two‑thirds of the time will involve hand‑use, talking or hearing. Expect to lift up to 25 lb regularly. Continuous computer work, package and box management, and other warehouse duties also apply.
