Job summary

A leading veterinary practice in Glossop is seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to support their team and maintain clinical excellence. This role involves providing clinical leadership, driving governance, and fostering a collaborative team culture. Job Title: Lead Veterinary Surgeon

Location: Victoria Vets, Glossop

Hours: 4 days, shifts between 8am-7.30 pm, Sat, rota 1:6 (9-1 pm)

Practice: Victoria Vets

Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

We’re seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to help support our team in maintaining clinical excellence, supporting team growth, and contributing to the ongoing success of our practice.

The team

We have a supportive team culture where we value collaboration, open communication, and looking out for each other. You will work alongside a dedicated, friendly team with a range of experience, who value collaboration and mentorship.

The team consists of 8 vets, 10 RVNs, 1 SVN, 1 PCA and 9 client‑care associates across 2 branches supporting our wonderful practice.

We have digital x‑ray, dental x‑ray, an in‑house laboratory suite, and have recently upgraded our ultrasound and endoscopy equipment.

  • A confident individual who can provide clinical leadership and support the veterinary team, promoting high standards of care and client services.
  • Help drive clinical governance and ensure compliance with practice protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director on rota planning, team wellbeing, and operational movements.
  • Someone who enjoys supporting others, building team culture and leading with empathy and clarity.
  • Clinical decision‑making abilities, able to interpret diagnostics and make informed decisions. A team player who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and remains calm under pressure.
  • A confident, collaborative attitude that helps maintain a positive team culture and excellent client care relationship.
