Overview

Are you an RVN with an interest in Emergency & Critical Care and looking for the next step in your career into a Lead Surgical Nurse role? Would you like access to an interesting caseload?

If so, then this is the ideal opportunity for you! We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and caring Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team as Lead Surgical Nurse at Pet Medics Worsley. We pride ourselves on high standards of care and are looking for someone who is passionate about working to these same values. This position would suit an experienced RVN, who is capable and confident of working sole charge and leading a small clinical team, with the support of a Lead Vet.

More about the role
  • The role will be overseeing the surgical nursing department within the hospital.
  • This will involve ensuring our high clinical standards are maintained.
  • Liaising with the veterinary surgeons and coordinating procedures for the day.
  • Updating surgical protocols.
  • Providing training and support to our patient care assistant team.
  • Being responsible for maintenance and stocking of the theatre equipment.
  • Providing high standard patient care including monitoring of anaesthesia and supporting the veterinary surgeon.
  • Hold regular surgical meetings with the team.
  • Liaising with the management team and giving regular updates on any changes implemented.
