Job description
Overview

Gram Games is the studio behind popular titles like 1010!, Six!, Merge Dragons!, and Merge Magic!, with more exciting projects in the pipeline. We are proudly part of the Zynga & Take-Two Interactive family. We do things differently here: we work in small self-managing teams, giving you an incredible amount of ownership, autonomy, and impact.

At Gram, everyone is expected to have a razor-sharp focus on creating a tangible impact on their team, their work environment, and on the overall company strategy. If you are motivated by autonomy, constant improvement, collaboration, and a sense of belonging, this is the place for you.

What Youinish
What You will Do
  • Own the end-to-end test strategy for the largest and most complex features that the project has to offer, independently and with limited supervision
  • Directly perform all parts of the fundamental test process: test planning, test analysis, test design, test execution and reporting
  • Inspect designs, concepts, wireframes and code to analyse test requirements and risks for both tech-driven and design-driven features
  • Review test plans created by other members of the QA team
  • Use a range of public and internal tools to perform grey-box testing
  • Demonstrate an ability to balance priorities of planned feature work with reactive live game issues and events
  • Identify problems with designs, schedules and plans to prevent bugs from occurring before they are written into code
  • Communicate test details and risks to stakeholders using language that they can understand and digest
  • Identify and present opportunities for new process improvements, tools and techniques to the wider team
What You Bring
  • Experience in game testing
  • Proven experience working within a game studio as part of a cross-discipline embedded QA team
  • Proficient in mobile device testing with an understanding of the bug patterns and techniques unique to the platform
  • Strong experience testing games-as-a-service projects, using remote data tools, balancing feature work against reactive live issues and prioritising work
  • Strong emotional intelligence with a focus on self-awareness, self-evaluation and an ability to empathise with the goals and perspectives of other functions
  • Experience testing projects built with Unity, with demonstrable Unity development skills and Editor knowledge also strongly preferred
  • Experience of technical areas and tooling when testing on mobile: Network tools, performance tools, analytics tools, API test tooling, automation frameworks, platform tools, storefront tools
  • Familiarity with source control (Git) and branching strategies, as well as how they influence test activities throughout the pipeline
  • An ISTQB Foundation certificate or equivalent
Bonus
  • Demonstrable examples of personal game projects built in Unity with C#
  • ISTQB advanced or specialist level certificates, or equivalents
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Game Design, or related field
Benefits
  • Highly competitive salary
  • Private medical care
  • Company bonus scheme
  • Awesome onsite chef serving breakfast, lunch, and lots of treats (naughty and nice)
  • Life insurance and a favourable pension scheme
  • Healthcare cash plan including dental and optical coverage
  • Amazing tech to work with and consoles to play and relax with everywhere you look!
