Job description

Job Title: Lead Laboratory Technician

Job Reference: 015/25-26

Hours/Contract: Full time (35 hours per week), Term time plus 3 weeks (0.91FTE), Permanent.

Salary: SFCA Support Staff Salary Scale point 15 - 17 (£32,199 to £34,253 per annum pro rata) - actual salary: £29,142 - £31,001 per annum.

Start date: ASAP

Closing date: 12 noon, Thursday 22nd January 2026.

About the Role

This ‘outstanding’ Sixth Form College is looking to appoint a Lead Laboratory Technician to lead and work as part of a team to service the laboratories so that staff and students can carry out practical work efficiently, accurately and safely. Subject technicians will support the delivery of practical work for A level courses, BTEC Applied Science, University Foundation courses and any other science courses in their specialism but will also be expected to support the work of other specialisms as directed by the Lead Technician.
