Overview

A fast-growing tech-driven organisation is seeking a Lead IT Engineer to own its internal IT environment. This role combines hands‑on engineering with strategic oversight—driving stability, security and a seamless end‑user experience while shaping future IT standards. You’ll also mentor a junior team member and partner closely across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Endpoint & Device Management

• Own Windows device lifecycle, standard builds, compliance and Intune / Autopilot configuration.
• Oversee onboarding / offboarding, asset tracking and hardware planning.

Security & Compliance

• Lead patching, security baselines, AV / EDR and endpoint protection.
• Support incident response and maintain compliance with internal policies.

Microsoft 365 & Cloud

• Manage identity, user access, MFA, licensing and conditional access in Microsoft 365.
• Support a small Azure environment (VMs, networking, storage).

Operational IT Support

• Act as senior point of escalation, solving issues efficiently and improving documentation.
• Identify recurring problems and implement long‑term fixes.

Automation & Process Improvement

• Use PowerShell to automate tasks and streamline workflows.
• Maintain accurate asset, licensing and inventory records.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with engineering, security, people and finance teams to support business needs.
• Assist in audits, compliance tasks and vendor engagement.

Leadership

• Guide and support a junior engineer.
• Promote a dependable, high-quality IT experience for all users.
