Lead Engineer - Contract - EC&I - Staffordshire - Outside IR35 - 6-month contract - £500-£585/day - Hybrid
+++Must have a British passport for security clearance+++ Lead Engineers applying for the role cannot hold dual nationality+++
Key aspects of the Lead Engineer role include
- Take charge of and lead project teams delivering electrical control systems, industrial software and electrical safety systems to customers in the defence sector
- Have first class stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Previously worked in a highly regulated, or highly regulated part of an industry for example, Nuclear, Medical, Rail Safety or Aviation
- Excellent understanding of electrical design principles, particularly control panels.
- Current SC level security clearance would be an advantage, but isn't essential
- Lead Engineer will initiate, oversee and lead all engineering activities on a project or group of projects
- Knowledge of working to ISO 9001 standards is key
- Oversee the activities of the team and help overcome problems by providing guidance
- You'll need to be a British passport holder and have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years, as you'll be put through security clearance if you haven't already got it.
- Be comfortable working in the defence sector
- The management team encourages a sensible work-life balance which encourages everyone to leave the office by 4.30pm daily and have 30 days holiday per year, as well as the statutory Bank Holidays
- Role will initially be based from the Stafford office (3 days per week) and home (2 days per week) with occasional day trips to customer sites
- The clients' offices are easily commutable from Stoke, Stafford, Cannock, Lichfield, Telford, Uttoxeter, Stone.
