Overview

Job Title: Lead Cloud & Database Services Engineer
Day Rate: Circa £650 per day, Inside IR35
Clearance Required: DV Clearance (Developed Vetting)
Location: Milton Keynes or Glasgow, 3 days per week.
Duration: 6 Months initially

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Cloud and Database Services Engineer to provide technical leadership across cloud and database platforms, ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure. You will lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of cloud and database solutions, drive automation, security, and compliance, and mentor engineers while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimise cloud and database solutions to meet strategic objectives.
• Drive automation, security, and compliance across cloud and database platforms.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and supporting key strategic projects.
• Champion innovation, best practices, and continuous improvement across the engineering function.

Skills & Experience

• Strong expertise in Azure Tenant, SQL, KQL, Ansible, and Power BI.
• Hands-on experience with containerisation (Docker/Podman), CEPH, and PKI.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, and Linux.
• Deep understanding of database security and automation.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide technical teams.
