An esteemed NHS Trust is looking for a Lead Clinical Scientist to provide MRI safety and support to various hospitals. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with safety regulations, lead a team, and contribute to patient care. This key role requires a strong educational background in Physics or Engineering, state registration as a Clinical Scientist, and expertise in clinical imaging. Lead Clinical Scientist to provide MRSE support for the Trust and support external Trusts under service level agreements. The radiation protection department provides specialist imaging scientific advice and technical support to radiology and radiotherapy, supports optimisation of imaging equipment, and participates in new imaging network activity. Applicants with experience of ultrasound physics are encouraged to apply.
The department is part of the wider radiation services team including nuclear medicine and radiotherapy physics at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

The successful candidate will be a HCPC registered Clinical Scientist, qualified to act as an MRSE and familiar with clinical imaging in a radiology department setting. You will lead on MRI safety and scientific support to several hospitals, working closely with the head of radiation protection as part of the leadership team delivering services to a number of Trusts. You will work with local service leads to ensure organisations deliver statutory obligations with respect to the safe use of MRI. The post holder will also provide support, line manage clinical scientists and technologists, contribute to staff development and supervise trainees undertaking the STP programme or equivalent.
