Job summary

A facility management company in Greater London is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee a defined team, ensuring health and safety compliance while maintaining high operational standards. The role involves managing subcontractors, providing technical support, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the health and safety of sites and engineers.
  • Check operation of the Permit to Work system according to safety procedures.
  • Manage subcontractor work approvals and safe operations.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual KPIs and SLAs.
  • Provide technical support to engineers and clients.
  • Manage day engineers and shift team.
  • Oversee procurement of materials and services.
Job description

Providing leadership, management, and development of a defined team ensuring operational commitments are met and exceeded. The role will require close liaison with employees, client, and internal senior managers. The operation should be Proactive and driven to achieve total customer satisfaction, whilst ensuring operational and fiscal plans are at least achieved.

Key Responsibilities
  • ResponsiblefortheH&Softhesitesand engineers.
  • OnsiteHVandLVAuthorisedPersonwhenqualifiedandonShift.
  • ToproactivelychecktheoperationofthePermittoWorksysteminaccordancewith BGIS Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements.Especially with regards to sub-contractors adherence to RAMS.
  • To proactively check the operation of the LOTO system in accordancewithBGISQuality,Health&Safetyproceduresand client requirements.
  • Ensure that sub-contractors perform to meet the requirement of the contract. Administersubcontractorworkapprovalsandsafeoperationwhilerepairorservice is carried out on site.
  • Undertakeothertasksasdefinedandrequestedbysitemanagement.
  • Toundertakeannualappraisalsofshifttechniciansonceyouhavecompletedthe BGIS Appraisal and Development training course.
  • EnsureanawarenessandcompliancetothecontractualKPI’s/SLA’s.
  • Ensure the Computer Based Maintenance system, e.g. Maximo, Concept,etciskeptuptodateandthatPPMandreactiveticketsare closed out with accurate data captured.
  • WorkcloselywiththeAreaContractManagertoensurethattheservicelevelsare maintained to a consistently high level.
  • SupporttheContractSupportinachievinghighlevelsofcustomersatisfaction
  • ResponsibleforStatutory&Codecomplianceofsites.Ensureengineersarefully equipped to carry out daily tasks.
  • PlanPPMschedulesforsitestoensureanevenworkloadinconjunctionwiththe Area Contract Manager
  • EnsurePPMiscarriedoutinaccordancewithmanufacturer’sguidelines.
  • ResponsibleforthereturnofPPMandworkrelateddocumentation.Man Management of Day Engineers and Shift team members.
  • Ensureallsiteshaveaccurateassetregistersandarelabelledaccordingly.
  • Responsibleforthefastandeffectiveprocurementofmaterialsandservices. Proactively source additional works and raise quotations.
  • Providetechnicalsupporttoengineers,helpdeskandclients.
  • InvestigateandreportonmajorOperationalincidents.
  • Ensureallcalloutsareattendedto,inconjunctionwiththe helpdesk.
  • PromoteH&Scultureacrossthewholeteam.
  • AssistengineerscarryingoutPPMwhererequired.Ensureregularcommunication with engineering team.
  • Ensureweeklytaskshavebeencompletedandassistsitemanagertoproduce reports on delivery
  • Ensurecustomerservicelevelsaremaintained.
  • Ensureuniformsarebeingwornandareingoodcondition.Ensureall3rdparty contract works have been carried out.
  • Attendallstatutoryworkstounderstandhowtheyareconductedandsupply feedback.
  • QuotedworksthatarenotapprovedbyFMandcouldhaveabusinessimpact should be escalated
  • Firstpointofcontactforallinhourshiftissuesand concerns.
  • Firstpointofcontactontheescalationpathforallmechanical incidents.
  • Responsiblefortheproductionanddistributionofaweeklyreportinconjunction with Area Contract Manager
  • Carryoutanyreasonablemanagementrequest.
