This role combines estimating, technical understanding of laser cutting, and customer communication.

The ideal candidate will have AutoCAD/SolidWorks/SigmaNEST (or similar) experience and laser cutting knowledge or transferrable skills from another industry.

Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to prepare accurate quotations.

  • Ensure all quotes are issued promptly and followed up within required deadlines.
Technical Support
  • Liaise with the Laser Sales Advisor to clarify requirements for complex jobs.
  • Interpret customer drawings using AutoCAD/SolidWorks/SigmaNEST (or similar).
  • Support programming and nesting processes where required (depending on skillset).

  • Highlight any technical or cost concerns early.
Essential Criteria:
  • Proven experience in estimating (engineering, manufacturing, fabrication or laser would be a strong advantage).
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office essential; CAD or nesting software desirable).
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work effectively with both internal teams and customers.
