Job description
Land and Property Management Officer

The Land and Property Management Officer will join our ET Property Team and lead the day-to-day management of land and property across the South East and London regions. The role ensures substation sites and non‑operational land meet statutory legislative requirements while supporting the needs of the organisation and its employees.

Key responsibilities include building maintenance compliance, managing non‑operational land risks, supporting the external supply chain, delivering compliance reports, providing technical support to internal customers, monitoring spend, building positive stakeholder relationships, and conducting site visits for SHE assurance.

What You’ll Do
  • Ensure all buildings on the operational estate are fully compliant with legislative requirements and organisational needs.
  • Manage non‑operational land to identify and mitigate relevant risks.
  • Assist the Land and Property Manager in managing the external supply chain in line with contract conditions and service standards.
  • Produce and present compliance and management reports to key stakeholders, including Heads of Regions and senior substation engineers.
  • Provide technical and operational support to ET customers through site visits, issue identification, and helpdesk job creation.
  • Monitor spend trends, challenge quotations, and ensure correct work scope and cost allocation.
  • Pro‑actively develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct site visits to operational and non‑operational sites, providing second line SHE assurance for contractor activities and supporting other SHE initiatives.
What You’ll Have
  • HNC or above.
  • Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH) is advantageous.
  • Management experience in operations, maintenance, or property services.
  • Basic understanding of UK Health & Safety laws and statutory regulations relating to buildings management.
  • Knowledge of lease and tenant management is desirable.
  • Understanding of the wider National Grid business and influence skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Full clean UK driver’s licence.
  • Willingness to travel across the South East and London regions and other work venues as required.
  • Experience of working with contractors and improving contractor performance.
  • Customer‑focused with proven communication skills at all levels.

Salary between £42,781 – £48,000, dependent on experience.
