Job summary

A healthcare training organization in Gateshead is seeking a Laboratory Technician for routine testing and data management. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring health and safety standards in the laboratory while conducting tests and reporting on specifications. This role requires an understanding of laboratory procedures and the ability to work independently. Training for Laboratory Technician Level 3 will be provided, enhancing skills and knowledge in this field.

Qualifications

• Manage and archive test data accurately.

Vacancy Description

Principal Account-abilities / Main Tasks:

• Carriers the routine testing requirements.
• Records and archives test data generated.
• Routinely reports testing and highlights any problems or unusual variations, and reports out of specification results to the relevant people.
• Ensures where possible “Work Requests” are carried out as required.
• Develops and continuously reviews new and existing Laboratory procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring that internal and external Health, Safety & Environmental standards are met in terms of both work performance and behavior.
• Ensures the Laboratory is a safe place to work in or visit, and that high housekeeping standards are maintained.
• Once trained on specific tasks, the role will involve working under your own initiative at times. Working on all aspects of the laboratory function.
