Job summary

A leading biopharmaceutical company is seeking a Lab Technician to support its research and development operations in Slough. The role involves managing stock, performing routine equipment calibrations, and preparing buffers/media alongside cell culture tasks. Candidates should possess a relevant degree and strong organizational skills. Successful applicants will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating attention to detail and teamwork. This contract is for 12 months with a pay rate of approximately £25k per annum.

Qualifications

  • Degree required in a relevant scientific qualification.
  • BSc preferred in a relevant Biotechnology Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Manage routine stock and equipment calibrations.
  • Prepare media and buffers; conduct cell culture work.
  • Support R&D team and maintain laboratory documentation.

Job description

Job title: Lab Technician

Location: Slough

Contract Length: 12 months

Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week, occasional weekend work

Pay Rate: approx. 25k per annum

About the Role

Opportunity to work within the biopharmaceutical industry at a globally leading CDMO.

Key Responsibilities
  • Routine stock management
  • Routine equipment calibrations
  • Raising EWRP notifications when required
  • Maintaining stock of re‑usable consumables (autoclaving support)
  • General housekeeping activities
  • Maintaining all laboratory and housekeeping documentation
  • General media and buffer preps
  • Processing departmental stock deliveries
  • Arranging departmental shipments
  • Supporting implementation of 6S in R&D labs
  • General support to R&D team members as required
  • Cell culture work to support projects
  • Supporting bioreactor set up and tear down (lab scale and ambr250)
Education-Required
  • Degree (required)* A-Level/BTEC Field of Study: Relevant scientific qualification
  • Degree (preferred) BSC Field of Study: Relevant Biotechnology Degree
