Overview

We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to work within the school to ensure the safe and efficient running of the school's kitchen and dining facility working across the school's two sites (Options Trent Acres and Options Brookfield), leading and supporting the kitchen staff in both. The postholder will produce high quality school lunches within set budget guidelines, planning varied menus in line with the School Food Standards, listening to the student voice and incorporating their ideas to improve the diets of pupils, promoting healthy eating and minimising food waste by reviewing stock and ordering accordingly. The role requires compliance with the standards and requirements set by the Environmental Health Agency to ensure a safe and clean kitchen and dining environment for pupils, staff and visitors. The role also involves managing costs to stay within budgets and demonstrating good communication with pupils, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support kitchen staff across two sites (Options Trent Acres and Options Brookfield) to ensure safe and efficient operation of the kitchen and dining facility.
  • Plan varied menus that comply with School Food Standards and take student feedback into account to promote healthy eating.
  • Monitor stock, control food requirements and ordering to minimise waste while meeting budget guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with Environmental Health Agency standards to provide a safe, clean environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, staff and visitors about meals and dietary needs; manage costs to fall within present and agreed budgets.
