Position: Kitchen Assistant – South Beach Café
Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Seasonal
Pay Rates: Up to £12.21 per hour depending on age

Join our One Great Team here at Haven as a Kitchen Assistant at South Beach Café, where coastal vibes meet a fast-paced, friendly kitchen. This role is a vital support position within the café kitchen, helping keep service running smoothly while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and teamwork.

Working closely with our Chefs, you’ll support day-to-day kitchen operations, assist with preparation, and help ensure the kitchen is always ready to deliver great food for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the kitchen team with day-to-day tasks to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation across kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment, and keeping work surfaces and floors clean and sanitised.
  • Assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as prepping ingredients and assembling simple items as directed by the chefs.
  • Helping with deliveries, stock organisation, and keeping storage areas tidy and well-managed.
  • Following all food hygiene, health, and safety standards at all times.
  • Working collaboratively with chefs and front-of-house teams to support a positive guest experience.
Requirements
  • No previous experience required – full training will be provided.
  • Previous kitchen, catering, or hospitality experience is an advantage but not essential.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn in a busy café environment.
  • Ability to carry out physical tasks, including standing for long periods and manual handling.
  • Strong team-working skills and good communication.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
