About the Role
Applebough Education are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified Teacher (QTS) to join their Key Stage 1 team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to inspiring young learners, fostering a love of learning, and helping every child reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that meet the needs of pupils within Key Stage 1, in line with the National Curriculum.
- Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that promotes pupil progress and achievement.
- Differentiate teaching to ensure all pupils, including those with additional needs, are fully supported and challenged.
- Use a range of assessment strategies to track progress, provide feedback, and inform next steps in learning.
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Contribute to the wider school community, including participation in staff meetings, training, and extracurricular activities.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience or training within Key Stage 1.
- Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
- Ability to plan creatively and deliver engaging, child-centred lessons.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
- Experience working in diverse classroom settings.
- Familiarity with phonics teaching approaches (e.g., Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds, or similar).
- Willingness to engage in professional development and contribute to whole-school initiatives.
