Overview

A Junior Supplier Relationship Manager is required to support the delivery of essential facilities management and accommodation services for the UK defence estate. This position is based at DSTL Porton Down, with occasional travel to RFCA sites. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to the performance of a high-profile defence contract by managing suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions, and embedding sustainable procurement practices. You will play a key part in shaping a supply chain that is efficient, compliant and performance driven. This position is suited to an individual with a background in facilities management and prior experience in procurement or supply chain management who is seeking progression and increased responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage supplier relationships within formal frameworks, ensuring delivery in line with agreed KPIs and SLAs
  • Negotiate contracts, terms and conditions to secure value for money and mitigate risks
  • Implement and monitor sustainable procurement practices across the supply chain
  • Review and analyse supplier performance data, prepare reports and coordinate supplier review meetings
  • Support supplier sourcing, selection and evaluation activities
  • Identify opportunities to achieve cost savings, efficiency gains and innovation in procurement processes
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across technical, operational and commercial teams
  • Ensure compliance with MOD and DSTL policies, standards and security requirements
Candidate Profile
  • Background in facilities management with experience in procurement or supply chain management
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage supplier contracts, terms and conditions
  • Experience in managing suppliers against frameworks with performance measures including KPIs and SLAs
  • Knowledge and application of sustainable procurement principles
  • Organised and detail-focused, able to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Confident communicator with strong relationship management skills
  • Data-driven with sound analytical and reporting capability
  • Proactive, resourceful and solutions oriented
Essential Requirements
  • Must be a British National
  • Must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC)
  • Facilities management background and relevant supply chain or procurement experience are required
