Job description

Bouygues Energies & Services Industry, an Equans Group Company is seeking a Junior Project Buyer to join our dynamic Procurement team based in Didsbury, Manchester.

This is more than just a buying role—it is a career opportunity for an ambitious Junior Buyer or a motivated Quantity Surveyor looking to leverage their negotiation skills and transferable commercial expertise. You will be part of a close-knit team delivering expert procurement services that power our growing business and shape innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable supply strategies.

As a Junior Project Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in developing our supply chain to meet the demands of high-growth sectors such as Data Centres and Pharmaceuticals.

While primarily based in Manchester, occasional travel to regional offices and project sites will be required.

What you will deliver?
  • Manage procurement of all materials for allocated projects in line with agreed strategies, ensuring best value solutions.
  • Provide a professional service in the procurement of sub-contractors.
  • Deliver competitive solutions balancing cost, quality, and sustainability.
  • Act as a category specialist across projects, ideally drawing on experience in construction or building services.
  • Build and manage supply chains, including sourcing, structuring, and performance management.
  • Implement digital tool to improve our Supply Chain Relationship Management.
  • Support Carbon Reduction initiatives with the supply chain.
  • Align with and support group procurement goals.

Who are we looking for?
  • An understanding of strategic procurement / buying practices.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be a strong team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, especially Excel.
  • Attention to detail and strong time management.
  • Highly methodical with a systematic approach to tasks.
  • Experience in M&E building services is desirable and / or experience in Procurement or a Commercial role.
  • CIPS or RICS or CIOB accredited degree or equivalent is desirable.
