The Emergency Department at Nottingham University Hospitals' NHS Trust is excited to be able to offer opportunities for motivated doctors to join our friendly Emergency Medicine team from 1st April 2026 for 12 months. One post is to cover maternity leave. You will have the opportunity to work in a forward‑thinking, dynamic department which is committed to the Trust's ambition of developing staff and delivering outstanding healthcare outcomes for patients. T Depending on your experience and interview, you may be offered a Junior Fellow role on our Tier 2 (CT1/2 level) rota or Tier 3 rota (CT3 level) which would only be considered if you hold MRCEM. We may offer you Senior Fellow at Tier 4 level, which is our registrar rota if you have the required amount of experience in ED plus MRCEM along with taking into consideration your interview. There will be opportunities for T3 clinicians to progress to the Tier 4 rota, Senior Fellow role, if full MRCEM is obtained and progression reviews completed. Please note, you must be available to start on 1st April '26 to align with our Resident doctor rotation which includes an induction to the Trust and a departmental induction on 2nd April which will be mandatory., Working in our ED encompasses many management skills such as managing the shop floor, keeping to the four‑hour target and constant reprioritisation of tasks. You will be supported to work through competencies to develop portfolio evidence to meet your set objectives and will work under the clinical direction of EM Consultants who are present in the department 24/7. All Fellows will have a monthly teaching day along with educational development time reflected on your rota. You will be allocated an educational and clinical supervisor.

NUH consists of the Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) and the Nottingham City Hospital Campuses. QMC houses our Emergency Department which has co-located adult and children’s units. NUH is the Major Trauma Centre for the East Midlands region. Our forward‑thinking, research active Emergency Department is one of the busiest in Europe with 195,000 new attendances annually. The Children's ED sees 44,000 children and young people and has expanded its resuscitation capability with a major capital investment. Nottingham is a haven for sports lovers and nature lovers. It is home to two famous football teams, an ice hockey team, an annual tennis open and boasts a test cricket ground and the National Ice and Water Sports Centres. Known for its high quality schools, the city has excellent rail and road links and an ultra‑modern bus and tram service. £52,656 to £65,048 a year. For Jnr posts the salary will be £52,656 & for Snr posts £65,048
