Our client is a market leader in providing innovative and bespoke integrated systems, offering services including Project Management, Implementation, Consultancy, and Software Development to blue-chip clients worldwide. Due to continued success and strategic growth, they are seeking to recruit Junior Electrical System Support Technicians to join their established team of electrical and controls engineers.
These exciting opportunities are for enthusiastic, ambitious, and competent junior electrical system support technicians who are driven, motivated team players. The role involves preventative maintenance, design, and modification of existing SCADA, PLC, and associated subsystems, as well as providing 24-hour emergency call-out coverage across sites nationwide.
Full training will be provided to practical candidates with some experience or interest in engineering and technology, particularly those who enjoy diagnosing and problem-solving while delivering high levels of customer service. The role requires willingness to travel across the UK, working nights regularly (with premium rates), and possessing a full UK driving license and valid passport, with no criminal convictions due to security clearance requirements.
During training at the Derby Head Office, you will develop skills to work as part of a team in designing, implementing, and testing control/integrated systems. You will learn to program PLCs using Ladder Logic, Function Block, or Statement List, configure SCADA software, and use programming languages such as C, C++, VB, and VBA. Additionally, you will undertake IP network design and configuration, as well as the design and testing of ELV electrical panels.
As part of a professional team, you will be responsible for planning, procuring, maintaining, and reporting on a wide range of sites and subsystems. Being a team player is essential. The ideal candidate will be determined, conscientious, enjoy diagnosing and solving problems, and committed to delivering excellent customer service. Willingness to travel and work nights regularly is a must.
Our client values a dynamic, client-focused approach and recruits high-caliber, ambitious individuals with drive and enthusiasm. They foster a friendly, supportive environment where commitment, flexibility, integrity, and a sense of humor are highly valued.
The successful candidate should have NVQ, C&G, or HNC or higher qualification in a relevant electrical, electronic, or IT-related discipline. Due to time constraints, applications are only considered from candidates based in or willing to relocate at short notice to the East Midlands, eligible to work in the UK, holding a full UK driving license, and able to attain security clearance for UK airports. Willingness to travel nationwide and work nights regularly is also required.
