Job description
Introduction

Applications are invited for the role of Junior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to commence as soon as possible for a period of at least 12 months.

Location and Working Pattern

The post is primarily based at Burnley General Hospital. The post holder will be required to take part in the first on‑call rota including BSOTS triage.

Responsibilities
  • Attend general obstetric and gynaecology duties including antenatal clinics, gynaecology clinics and subspecialty exposure.
  • Assist in obstetric and gynaecology theatre lists and labour ward / maternal assessment unit duties.
  • Attend special interest clinics.
  • Provide care of in‑patients and admissions to the gynaecology ward.
  • Peri‑operative care of patients and out‑patient clinics (oncology, urogynaecology, endometriosis, colposcopy, ambulatory gynaecology).
  • Participate in audit and research projects.
Training and Development

The post is a non‑training grade but the department will provide an equivalent level of training with a named clinical supervisor and regular appraisals. You will have access to a first‑class medical library and training facilities.

Team Working

We look for a hard‑working, committed doctor who works well within the wider team of doctors, midwives, specialist nurses and allied health professionals to deliver excellent care to patients.

Qualifications

Full registration with the GMC and meeting the necessary requirements of the person specification. Applicants must have UK experience at least at the clinical attachment level.

On‑call Rota

The post holder will participate in a 1 in 9 1st on‑call rota that includes BSOTS triage.
