Responsibilities
  • The main responsibilities of the post are to provide effective and appropriate medical care to all patients with fragility fractures and to complete falls and bone health assessments in accordance with national standards.
  • Work in partnership with wider teams including trauma, radiology, rheumatology, and the Care of the Elderly Team (COTE); contribute to clinical assessment virtually, by telephone, or through face-to-face osteoporosis clinic and multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Be part of a large medical and multidisciplinary team working under direct consultant supervision; act as the Health Board Lead for Bone Health Services.
  • Provide responsibility for bone health and osteoporosis assessment, day-to-day management, coordination of inpatients with fragility fractures within ABUHB, and liaise with clinical teams and General Practitioners/community teams.
Qualifications
  • Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold full registration and a licence to practise with the GMC.
