Junior Business Analyst

Contract: Commercial

Location: London, E14 9SH

Hours of work: 40

Contract Type: Permanent

The Junior Business Analyst (BA) will play a critical role within collaborative bid teams, supporting the development of commercially competitive and financially robust solutions that secure profitable, long-term contracts through retention, extensions, and new wins. Working closely with the Solutions Director and wider bid team members (Bid Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and support functions), the Junior BA will assist in all aspects of costing, financial modelling, and commercial risk/opportunity analysis throughout the bid lifecycle. This includes early-stage bid/no-bid reviews, solution development, costing/pricing, submission, negotiation, and contract close.

The role requires a strong commercial mindset, with the ability to analyse client requirements, identify risks, develop pricing strategies, and ensure accurate, competitive submissions. The BA will also liaise with functions across Operations, Legal, Insurance, Procurement, and People & Culture, acting as a conduit between the bid team and the wider business. This is a fast-paced, commercially focused role that demands analytical rigour, financial acumen, and the ability to balance competitiveness with deliverability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all pricing and commercial risk aspects of assigned bids.
  • Take full ownership of the accuracy and completeness of cost and pricing submissions.
  • Develop and drive pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with long-term profitability.
  • Review bid documents to identify pricing requirements, specification issues, and contractual risks/opportunities.
  • Formulate and communicate client clarifications to support robust pricing strategies.
  • Employ different costing approaches (top-down and bottom-up) across a wide range of FM services (hard and soft).
  • Benchmark against internal and external data to validate assumptions and strengthen competitive advantage.
  • Act as the focal point for all finance aspects of a bid, preparing P&Ls and cashflows for multiple stakeholders.
  • Liaise with suppliers, procurement, and operational teams to deliver economical, innovative, and competitive solutions.
Professional and Personal Competencies / Qualifications
  • Recognised qualifications with demonstrable technical competence.
  • Proven experience in successful estimating within Facilities Management or a comparable industry.
  • Proven track record in data analysis, accurate costings, and contributing to winning bids.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercially astute with ability to assess risks, opportunities, and financial implications.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident working with P&Ls, cashflows, and financial modelling.
  • Strong experience working within both private and public sector procurement (e.g., Crown Commercial Services, NHS).
  • Demonstrated ability in different pricing approaches and commercial models.
