A local apprenticeship program is looking for a motivated Accounts Assistant Apprentice to gain hands-on experience in finance while working towards an accounting qualification. You'll be involved in processing invoices, maintaining financial records, and supporting financial operations in a dynamic environment. The role offers a salary of £16,000 annually, with flexible training options and a pathway to a permanent position after the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing purchase invoices and matching them to purchase orders.
• Allocate supplier invoice costs to the correct projects, cost codes, and budget categories.
• Support the preparation and posting of sales invoices.
• Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on any discrepancies.
• Help maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and payment runs.
• Support month-end processes, including journals and accruals (with supervision).
• Help prepare reports and management information as needed.
