Job summary

A leading mining contractor in Saskatchewan is seeking experienced Jumbo Bolter Operators for underground drilling operations. This role requires at least 5 years of experience with split feed drilling rigs and a commitment to safety. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience operating split feed jumbo drilling rigs in an underground mine.
  • Experience drilling, meshing, and bolting with split feed jumbo drilling rigs.
  • Underground Common Core certification.
  • Ability to work independently.

  • Performing minor repairs as necessary.

Project Details

Based at our project in Northern S.K., this will be a 3 week on / 3 week off rotation opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Setting up and operating a jumbo
  • Drilling and blasting
  • Visually inspecting, sound, scale and wash down work area, check for bootlegs and miss holes, flags lifters and paint the face
  • Assessing the ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirements with jumbo drilling rig
  • Load and prime development round with bulk emulsion and electronic detonators following engineering design
  • Perform minor repairs
  • Complete daily reports on equipment and workplace
  • Following all policies and processes at the mine site and underground
  • Performing the role safely and ensures Health & Safety is the number one priority
  • Other mining related tasks as required
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Must have a minimum of 5+ years experience operating split feed jumbo drilling rigs in an underground mine
  • Must have experience drilling, meshing, and bolting with split feed jumbo drilling rigs
  • Underground Common Core
  • Able to work independently
  • Ability to read mine plans and specifications for underground mining
  • Positive attitude and enjoys being a proactive member of a high performing teams
  • Residents of the Northern SK and candidates identifying as Indigenous are encouraged to apply

If this position involves frequent air travel to and from work site, you will be required to meet all legislated requirements for air travel to work at the remote site camp. You will be required to work both dayshift and nightshift as part of the rotational schedule 21 days on site, 21 days off site. For this safety sensitive position, you will be required to undergo a background check and be required to undergo substance and pre-employment testing.
