Job description

I am looking for an experienced Global Payroll Specialist, specialising in Italian payroll.

Working as part of a global payroll team, this role is key to ensuring the accurate, efficient, and confidential delivery of payroll services across multiple countries, with a particular emphasis on the Italian payroll.

Previous hands-on experience of managing Italian payrolls is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processes across assigned EMEA countries, working closely with an outsourced payroll provider.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Italian payroll, ensuring compliance with all local regulations and deadlines.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits across EMEA.
  • Deliver payroll and accounting month-end procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Partner with HR and business stakeholders to resolve payroll queries and provide expert guidance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely input of data from HR systems and other sources.
  • Prepare and complete statutory returns and other reporting requirements.
  • Handle payroll-related queries with confidence and professionalism.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and company requirements, advising colleagues of changes or improvements as needed.


Skills & Experience required

  • Minimum 2 years' experience within an EMEA payroll environment, with demonstrable experience of running Italian payrolls.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience working with multiple policies, agreements, and employment frameworks across Europe.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
