Overview

Job Title: IT Technician

Location: Swindon (multi-site support across local schools)

Salary: £26,000-£30,000 per annum + mileage

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role: We are currently seeking a proactive and customer-focused IT Technician to provide on-site IT support across a group of schools in the Swindon area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1–3 years of experience in a school or education IT environment who enjoys a hands-on, varied role.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support to staff and students across multiple school sites
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
  • Set up and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, projectors, and interactive whiteboards
  • Support with user account creation, password resets, and access control (Active Directory)
  • Assist with maintaining and updating IT asset records
  • Escalate complex issues to senior technicians or third-party providers where necessary
  • Work within SLAs and ensure consistent service delivery across sites
  • Travel between school sites (mileage reimbursed)
Requirements
  • 1–3 years’ experience in an IT support role, ideally within a school or education setting
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, and basic networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple locations
