IT Technician - Contract (On-Site, £150-£200 per day)

Overview

We are supporting an established educational organisation in North London who require an IT Technician on a short-term contract basis. This role provides hands‑on support across a diverse user base consisting of staff and students. The ideal candidate will be capable of hitting the ground running with minimal handover, providing high‑quality customer‑focused IT support.

This position is fully on‑site, covering a 40‑hour week between 8am‑5pm on a rota basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver first‑class, customer‑focused IT support across staff and student users
  • Provide face‑to‑face technical assistance for day‑to‑day IT issues
  • Build, image, patch and configure desktop and laptop devices
  • Support and manage iPads / iOS devices and other hardware
  • Configure printers, networked devices and peripherals
  • Create and manage user accounts via Active Directory and O365
  • Support with starters and leavers, including provisioning and access control
  • Update tickets, maintain accurate documentation and follow process
  • Escalate issues appropriately to senior members of the team
  • Participate in small IT projects where required
  • Offer general guidance and advice on IT best practices to end users
Key Technologies
  • Experience supporting several of the following is preferred :
  • Microsoft Windows 10 / 11
  • Microsoft Office / O365 / SharePoint Online
  • Active Directory / Group Policy
  • Intune or SCCM (beneficial, not essential)
  • iPads / iOS Management
  • Networking basics (patching, Wi‑Fi support)
  • Desktop / laptop hardware troubleshooting
  • Network printing
  • Experience in education environments (beneficial)
