Job Summary / Purpose

This position is responsible for the data network environment supporting Data Centers, remote site locations, wide area network connectivity, Internet, and cloud connectivity for Entergy. The manager leads a staff of network engineers that design network solutions, execute network and other IT projects, and support the daily operational functions including incident response, BAU changes, and vulnerability remediation. The role collaborates closely with peer IT, IS, and business functional areas.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Ownership of delivering business outcomes
  • Build and manage a high‑performing team
  • Effectively communicate complex ideas/concepts to business leaders at all levels to drive business outcomes and value delivery
  • Understand the business requirements and incorporate them into all data network designs
  • Accountable to meet or exceed expected business outcomes with customer centricity as the driving principle
  • Develop and maintain a network environment that delivers reliable, predictable, secure, and cost‑effective services
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NERC CIP, ISA/IEC 62443)
  • Provide strong leadership across the data network and IT organization
  • Develop and grow staff members with technical and business acumen
  • Manage vendor relationships and contract management
  • Develop relationships with business partners/customers
  • Lead large, complex technical projects/programs
  • Contribute to technology road‑maps and multi‑year budgets
Minimum Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant technical experience (equivalent work experience)
  • Advanced degree is a plus
  • Advanced network certifications are a plus
Experience
  • 7+ years relevant data network experience, with design, automation, and management of large, complex data network environments
  • 3+ years’ experience managing a technical team responsible for design, automation, and management of large, complex data network environments
  • Experience in vendor relationships and contract management
  • Familiarity with business operations, financial planning, regulatory, and best‑in‑class technology landscape
  • Experience with network technologies, cloud technologies, and their application
  • Experience in developing technology road maps and associated multi‑year budgets
  • Experience in launching and executing large complex technical projects/programs
Skills and Knowledge
  • Technical leadership and strong understanding of network technologies and their application
  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies and offerings
  • Strong knowledge of network operations support
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with business leadership and resources in a multi‑location, cross‑functional, network/matrix environment
