The IT & Data Officer will play a keyrole in supporting the safe, effective and efficient use of digital systemsacross Hall Green Health. The post-holder will provide first-line IT support,ensure robust access control and asset management, and lead on the extraction,analysis and presentation of operational and clinical data to supportgovernance, performance and service improvement.This role has a strong data focus, supporting business intelligence, audit, QOFperformance, access reporting and dashboard development, while maintainingresponsibility for day-to-day IT operational support.The role contributes directly to patient safety, information governance andoperational resilience.

Main duties of the job

Hall Green Health is seeking an IT and Data Officer to support the safe and effective use of digital systems across our large NHS GP practice serving approximately thirty two thousand patients.

This role combines first-line IT support with a strong focus on data reporting and business intelligence. The post holder will manage user access and system issues, maintain IT assets and liaise with suppliers, while also extracting analysing and presenting clinical and operational data to support governance performance and service improvement.

Key responsibilities include developing dashboards for access and QOF performance, supporting audits, maintaining Information Governance standards and ensuring secure role-based access controls. The successful candidate will be confident working with Excel and clinical systems such as EMIS, able to interpret data accurately and communicate findings clearly to non technical staff.

Job responsibilities

IT Support - Digital Operations

  • Act as first-line IT support for practice staff resolving hardware software and access issues
  • Manage user account creation modification and removal across practice systems including joiners and leavers
  • Maintain secure role-based access controls in line with Information Governance policies
  • Escalate technical issues appropriately to external suppliers such as CSU and system providers and track through to resolution
  • Maintain and update the IT asset register
  • Support maintenance of IT infrastructure including devices printers telephony and networking equipment
  • Assist in business continuity arrangements relating to IT systems
  • Support the safe implementation of digital system changes under direction of the Digital and Transformation Lead
  • Provide on-site support during critical system incidents where required
  • Extract validate and analyse data from clinical and operational systems including EMIS, Docman, Digital Front Door, telephony and Microsoft
  • Develop and maintain dashboards for access appointment utilisation QOF performance activity workflow and governance metrics
  • Support audits and quality improvement initiatives
  • Create and maintain searches and protocols within clinical systems under guidance
  • Support preparation of reports for practice meetings PCN reviews and external reporting requirements
  • Ensure data outputs are accurate clearly presented and understandable to non-technical staff
  • Identify trends and anomalies in data and escal ate concerns appropriately

Governance & Compliance

  • Support Information Governance processes including asset register maintenance and access audits
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of system changes and data processes
  • Support clinical safety awareness by ensuring digital changes are documented and escalated appropriately
  • Assist in responding to data queries or incidents
  • Assist and coordinate Display Screen Equipment assessments
  • Work in line with GDPR and NHS data protection requirements
  • Communicate clearly with staff regarding IT issues and system changes
  • Provide updates on known outages or system disruptions
