Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Office-based

The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Investigation Officer to join their Counter Terrorism department. You will investigate crimes within national, regional, and force counter‑terrorism and extremism strategies, supporting high‑priority investigations. Your focus will be on conducting thorough investigations and gathering intelligence to secure successful prosecutions for terrorism‑related offences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct proactive and reactive investigations into counter‑terrorism and extremism crimes.
  • Attend crime scenes, gather evidence, and preserve critical information.
  • Interview witnesses and suspects, take statements, and gather intelligence.
  • Lead and support major investigations, including covert and overt methods.
  • Manage and secure exhibits and ensure compliance with investigation standards.
  • Prepare complex prosecution files and assist with major incident management.
Qualifications
  • Experience in criminal investigations, particularly in counter‑terrorism.
  • Knowledge of investigation procedures, legislation (e.g., PACE, RIPA), and intelligence handling.
  • Experience in handling sensitive information and evidence management.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
  • UK National or dual national status (with one British nationality) due to national security clearance requirements.
  • Prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (Enhanced).
