A Birmingham-based Not for Profit organisation seeks an Interim Management Accountant for a 4-month contract. Overview

RM Recruit are supporting a South Birmingham based Not for Profit organisation in the recruitment of an Interim Management Accountant for their team. This role will have a duration of c4 months and operate on a hybrid working model (2 days onsite, 3 working from home).

Responsibilities
  • Prepare management and year-end accounts for subsidiary organisations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
  • Produce monthly budget monitoring reports and commentaries, ensuring they are timely and accurate.
  • Record income and expenditure appropriately, and advise the team on correct accounting treatments for any adjustments.
  • Support budget holders in the preparation of their budgets, offering financial guidance and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Manage assigned control accounts, including the preparation of journals and reconciliations in accordance with the month-end timetable.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes, helping the team deliver accurate and timely financial information.
  • Review month-end information prepared by finance assistants, reconciling and closing subsidiary ledgers as required.
  • Accurately prepare and administer weekly payroll and expense claims using the payroll system.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of financial processes, systems, and controls across the organisation to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Requirements / Qualifications

This role will suit an experienced interim who has proven experience on quickly adapting to new environments in Management Accountant roles.

Additional qualifications or experience may include strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work across multiple entities within a not-for-profit structure.
