Job Title: Interim Lecturer in Sports
Status: Fixed Term Contract, 18 months, 37 hours per week

Overview

Our Academy of Sport, Health and Public Services covers Sport, Public Services, Personal Training and Adventure Sports with multiple facilities across our campus to ensure our learners are industry‑focused and career ready. The College has significantly invested in the Academy, with a £6 million investment in a new fitness studio, gym, international‑standard 4G pitch and sports performance centre. We also have strong links with a wide range of sporting and public sector organisations, such as the England Amputee Football Association, RAF, AoC Sport and National Outdoor Training Centres.

About the role

We are looking for a highly enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Lecturer/Course Manager in Sport. The ideal candidate will have previous teaching experience, a background in sport science, and will be proactive in working with the Curriculum Area Manager to review, design and develop the Sport curriculum at Reaseheath College. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting high expectations for our learners and be a key member within the Academy and across the College.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality teaching across a range of subjects within Sport.
  • Assess theory and practical competence using varied assessment methods.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum documentation, including schemes of work.
  • Manage courses, including tutorials, target setting, and safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Engage with employers and stakeholders to enhance departmental reputation and student progression.
The successful candidate will
  • Have prior teaching experience and qualification (desirable).
  • Hold a relevant qualification or have proven relevant work experience within Sports.
  • Have experience as a Lead Internal Verifier (desirable).
  • Have experience teaching BTEC courses (desirable).
  • Demonstrate evidence of delivering inspirational educational activities.
