Job description

Axon Moore is supporting a leading Financial Services business based in East Leeds with the appointment of an Interim Financial Controller.

This is a high-profile role responsible for establishing a strong financial control environment and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records across the group. You will work closely with the Board and senior leadership team, providing clear financial insight and support during this interim period.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading and overseeing the finance team to ensure robust financial controls and accurate reporting
  • Ownership of the full group month-end close and preparation of group management accounts
  • Responsibility for all financial reporting requirements
  • Preparation of month-end files and associated balance sheet reconciliations
  • Liaising with external auditors and supporting the preparation of statutory accounts
  • Group consolidation
  • Driving process improvements and efficiencies
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Strong technical accounting expertise, preferably within a group or head office environment
  • Previous experience within Financial Services or Professional Services would be preferred
  • Experience of consolidating group accounts

This is a 3-6 month interim assignment requiring a January start.
