Financial Accountant

Location: Leeds (Hybrid)
Contract Type: 3 months FTC
Hours: Full-Time

About the Role

Marks Sattin is delighted to be working with an excellent organization that is looking for a Financial Accountant to join the business on a 3-month FTC basis.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Finance Manager, the primary purpose of the role is to provide accounting support across a range of responsibilities, delivering accurate accounting reports in a timely and reliable manner.
  • Take ownership of management reporting and balance sheet controls, with 'end to end' responsibility for certain quarterly/year-end activities.
  • Create process improvements, suggest changes to enhance the control environment, and improve decision-making insight.
  • Provide reliable quarterly management accounts for the UK group and the Belgian branch.
  • Compile annual TB and financial statements for the UK group and the Belgian branch, ready for review by the Finance Manager and external audit, ensuring accuracy and complete analysis.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts for the UK group and other EMEA offices, as well as key accounts including distributions and payroll costs.
  • Prepare quarterly UK VAT returns and associated "net-down" journal.
  • Assist with providing data to external statutory auditors in the UK during audits.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports to internal stakeholders.
  • Input monthly journals for month-end routines.
  • Calculate and bill shared overhead costs to group entities.
  • Co-authorize office and client payments within banking portals, ensuring compliance with SAR.
