Job description
Overview

A highly successful engineering business based in York seeks an experienced Finance Manager to cover a maternity leave for the next 12 months, starting end Sept / early Oct 2025.

Responsibilities
  • To assist in the preparation of monthly Management Accounts to strict deadlines, ensuring that Balance Sheet Accounts are reconciled each month and taking corrective action to guarantee timeliness and accuracy of information.
  • To assist in the preparation of monthly profit and cash flow forecasts.
  • To assist in influencing decisions affecting the cash flow and profitability of the business.
  • To acquire and display a good understanding of the business and provide management information to support the Division.
  • To assist with ensuring that the systems of control and reporting provide relevant, timely and accurate management information and to be involved in cross-company initiatives where required.
  • To aid the annual budget process for the Division ensuring reports are completed and deadlines met and a thorough budget is prepared.
  • To assist in the preparation of annual statutory financial accounts and support the annual audit process where necessary.
Qualifications

To be considered, you will ideally be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified but someone who is qualified by experience and has the relevant experience may also be considered. Some remote working is available, but ideally this role will be worked on site in York.
