Job description

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting directly to the Infrastructure Manager, the Infrastructure Support Engineer will provide effective IT assistance across all aspects of the business and will support the IS Manager, the Infrastructure & Security Manager, and the Applications Manager.

The role involves supporting and maintaining Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems, along with general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software. The position offers exposure to a broad range of IT projects and activities.

The primary focus is on supporting office-based staff with their equipment and environment.

Assist other IT department members with project workload as requested.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Escalating IT issues to managers when necessary
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues
  • Assisting with IT projects as instructed by the IS Manager
  • Providing desktop and server support
  • Supporting and maintaining MS Desktops and Servers
  • Setting up and configuring new laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
  • Installing authorized software on laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
  • Applying security updates and upgrades to devices and keeping them current
  • Fault finding on laptops, desktops, and mobile devices
  • Completing internal user moves, including phones
  • Patching network and phones

SPECIAL FEATURES / ATTRIBUTES

  • Contributing to projects managed by the Infrastructure & Security Manager

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Resolving IT issues affecting internal customers
  • Ensuring field staff have access to working equipment and applications
