Overview

Job Title: Senior Project Manager – Financial Services / Technology Portfolio

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle delivery of complex projects and programmes within our Technology portfolio. This role requires a strong understanding of financial services, regulatory change, and project governance. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining transparency and alignment with strategic business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end project delivery from initiation through to handover and closure, ensuring compliance with project delivery policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
  • Maintain accurate, current, and complete project data using golden source tools and reporting provided by central PMO.
  • Manage cross-functional steering committees and working groups, ensuring accountability for actions and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with peers, risk control owners, and stakeholders across departments to ensure quality and governance of project delivery.
  • Support the Technology Portfolio Manager in overseeing governance and delivery across the portfolio.
  • Identify and resolve issues swiftly, applying sound judgement and business rationale.
  • Articulate strategic imperatives and benefits of projects to senior stakeholders, influencing decision-making and fostering support.
  • Engage and manage third-party vendors in line with procurement and vendor management policies.
  • Recruit and manage internal project delivery resources, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Maintain governance standards across all project committees, including Terms of Reference, RAID logs, and change control.
  • Ensure clean project closure, including lessons learned, executive attestation, and closure reporting.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering projects within financial institutions.
  • Proven track record of managing investment budgets, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Experience in negotiating project allocations and securing stakeholder commitment.
  • Strong delivery resource planning and attestation of project feasibility.
  • Subject matter expertise in project/programme management across multiple initiatives.
  • Governance design and delivery, including reporting to executive forums and maintaining RAID logs.
  • Document management and audit readiness of project artefacts.
  • Experience in project/programme closure and risk acceptance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations and experience in regulatory project delivery.
  • Experience with infrastructure, AWS, cloud, hardware, software, audit, regulatory, windows upgrade, and technology project management.
