Job summary

A leading staffing firm is seeking a skilled Infrastructure Networking Engineer to work fully remote. This role involves assessing existing Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) implementations, focusing on architecture, security, and cost efficiency. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with GKE, strong networking knowledge, and the ability to independently deliver structured assessments. Qualifications

• Proven, hands-on experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), with extensive depth in design and operations.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes cluster architecture, networking, and security.
• Experience reviewing and optimizing cloud-native platforms across operations, automation, and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a detailed review of the customer’s existing GKE environment across all key technical dimensions.
• Assess cluster architecture and tenancy models to ensure scalability, resilience, and appropriate isolation.
• Review networking and connectivity design to validate performance, reliability, and security.
• Evaluate security controls, configurations, and compliance with best practices.
• Review operational processes, monitoring, and observability to support effective day-to-day management.
• Assess automation and CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and reliability of deployments.
• Review cost management and billing practices to identify optimization opportunities.
• Evaluate testing approaches to ensure platform stability and quality.
• Produce clear findings and recommendations to improve the overall GKE implementation.
