Job description
Role Overview

We're looking for a skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer with focus on Wintel to play a key role in shaping and supporting the technology that underpins our clients' success. The role is permanent, based on site in Salisbury or Portsdown West (Portsmouth) and requires DV security clearance. It may require varying hours to cover 8 am‑6 pm service.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for Windows Server environments (2012/2019/2022). Troubleshoot and resolve complex server, network, and infrastructure issues within agreed SLA’s. Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows services. Perform server patching, upgrades, and maintenance in line with security and compliance standards. Monitor system performance and implement improvements to ensure high availability and reliability. Work with 1st and 2nd line support teams to elevate and resolve incidents within agreed SLA’s. Maintain and update documentation for systems, processes, and procedures. Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing. Support virtualization technologies (VMware). Ensure compliance with IT policies, standards, and best practices. Assist in project planning and execution for infrastructure upgrades and migrations, working with Architects and Project Managers.

Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server administration.
  • Experience managing and administering Active Directory.
  • Proven experience providing IT support in an enterprise environment. Familiarity with IT Service Management systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Hands‑on experience with virtualization technologies.
Benefits & Compensation

Salary: £42k‑£52k; 25 days annual leave with the option to buy additional days; health cash plan; life assurance; pension; generous flexible benefits fund (3% of base salary). Security clearance level: holding SC or eligible for SC clearance, willing to undertake DV clearance.
