A financial services firm in London is seeking an Investment Banking M&A Associate to support high-profile transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong financial modeling capabilities and a minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant role. This position offers a hybrid work model with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.

As a Baird Investment Banker, you will work alongside prominent growth companies and investors on high-profile transactions, gaining insights into various products, sectors, and categories. You will be part of this ongoing success as an Investment Banking M&A Associate in our Industrial and Consumer sectors to support strong growth in the practice.
This position offers flexibility with 3 days per week in our London office and 2 days remote.
Providing quantitative, qualitative and analytical support and analysis for mergers and acquisitions and other financial advisory services to clients across a variety of industries.
Preparing company valuations, financial models and client presentations.
Due diligence, project management, document processing and financial/statistical analysis.
Depending on experience, Associates can range from No.2 to No.4 on advisory teams.
Associates may be assigned specific departmental responsibilities, including in relation to business development activities.
Established Expertise:
Financial Acumen: Strong command of accounting principles and advanced financial modeling capabilities.
Analytical Rigor: Proven ability to conduct detailed financial analysis and synthesize insights.
Communication Skills: Skilled in crafting compelling presentations and written materials for internal and external audiences.
Project Leadership: Experience managing complex workstreams and meeting tight deadlines across multiple engagements.
Strategic Growth Areas:
Commercial Judgment: Ability to assess opportunities and risks with a strategic lens.
Deal Execution: Hands-on experience supporting transaction processes, including diligence, documentation, and client coordination.
Presentation Delivery: Confidence in presenting to senior stakeholders and clients.
Negotiation & Influence: Exposure to deal structuring and negotiation dynamics.
Team Development: Experience mentoring analysts and managing output quality.
Client Engagement: Building and sustaining trusted relationships with clients.
Regulatory Insight: Familiarity with legal frameworks such as the Listing Rules and Blue Book.
Market Awareness: Understanding of capital markets and macroeconomic trends.
Stock Market and general economic awareness
One of the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5 (or equivalent).
Qualified Accountant or Lawyer.
MBA graduate.
1+ years’ experience in an Associate or equivalent role within an investment bank or relevant industry.
